Another Measure of Economic Value of Addresses

In a presentation at Triangle’s World Mail and Express Americas conference in Mexico City last week, Costa Rica Post’s Giovanni Campos said the lack of an address system has been costing the national economy $720 million a year in a country with just 4.4 million inhabitants. The Post has spent $4.8 million on its address development project over the last 4 years and has completed addressing for some 452,000 of their 1 million addresses, or 70% of the mail volume.  This looks to us like a pretty healthy ROI.
