CUPW Striking in Montreal: June 6, 2011
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers Montreal local is on a 24-hour strike today that is expected to end at 11:30 p.m. Picket activities have begun at Canada Post’s Léo-Blanchette Plant, the Bridge Street facility and a number of letter carrier depots within Montreal. Mail induction and delivery will be affected in Montreal and the surrounding areas today.
The rotating strike in Hamilton ended as expected at midnight Sunday. Mail delivery in the Hamilton area will take place today, Monday; however, volumes are expected to be lower than normal.
It is business as usual everywhere else in the Canada Post network.
