Now Available: Special Report: When is an address not an address? When it’s an Eircode

There has been interest in Ireland’s long-standing goal of adopting a postcode for at least 10 years, perhaps longer. Now a solution has been approved and adopted.  In the next month it will be implemented with a launch letter to 2.2 million “addresses”.  A number of address experts have found the new system inadequate and there have been objections from many other quarters, including the data protection experts. What does the code look like?  What are its strengths and weaknesses? The Executive Director spent time last week in Dublin with the project’s Business Development Director and reports on their discussions and on the new system.
