Drones Offer Innovative Solution for Local MappingBy
The World Bank is implementing a US$ 12 million Real Estate and Cadastre Project to assist the government in producing a national cadastre system and geospatial data infrastructure.
The World Bank is using UAV’s for cadastral surveying. It is fast, and accurate. The same technology and practice could be applied to the process of allocation of addresses to the plots which are the subject of the cadastral flights, or the address work party could do its own flying and identification allocation. The possibilities for faster and cheaper address allocation are all too obvious. Hopefully, the UPU will be helping the posts who need address development speeded up by sharing this technical break-through from its sister (brother?) organization, the World Bank.
