Oakland University creates campus address system to aid emergency responseBy
In an effort to help emergency response times, Oakland University officials have adopted a campus-wide address system for the buildings on the more than 1,400-acre suburban campus.
Oakland University is the size of a large town and finally after probably 100 years they give every building a street address. The issue is not mail delivery, but emergency response, visitors finding their destinations, trucks delivering all many of things, and everything BUT the mail. In fact, the USPS did not participate in the project. This just underlines how diverse are the applications of addresses, how much they save in money, time, and life.
